Does this sign stop you in your tracks? When I see this type of math mistake I sigh and wonder whether the other shoppers even notice. It’s obvious that the employee who posted the signage didn’t. They appear to be mixing up the notation for dollars and cents creating a fantastic price for kiwis – I could get three for a penny! Unfortunately I don’t think I’d receive this great price when I hit the check-outs.
What do you do when you see this type of mistake? Do you notice them? Do you tell anyone? Could we assign students the challenge of finding more of these and sharing them in class?
